Learn about MyDOT’s mission to combat period poverty by providing menstrual education and free supplies, while empowering women and menstruating individuals.
Founded by Collectivexpress Incorporated in response to the growing crisis of period poverty, MyDOT works to close the gap for menstruating individuals who cannot afford or access period products. Our organization is focused on providing menstrual education and body-positive empowerment for women and individuals of all gender identities who menstruate. Period poverty doesn’t just affect physical health; it affects education, emotional well-being, and financial stability. Missing school or work because of a lack of period products is a harsh reality for many in Cleveland and across the U.S.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide equitable access to menstrual supplies and education for all. Our vision is a world where menstruation is no longer a barrier to success, opportunity, or dignity. We have partnered with various organizations and community leaders to distribute free menstrual kits, create educational workshops, and foster open conversations about menstrual health.
MyDOT began with a small group of passionate advocates in Cleveland, Ohio, who were deeply concerned about the rising number of menstruating individuals forced to choose between buying food or sanitary products.
This gap, which disproportionately affects women of color and low-income households, sparked our desire to create an organization that would not only distribute supplies but also promote long-term, systemic change.
